Pastor Jeremy Porras
Jeremy has been a worship leader at churches since 1991. He felt the call to lead worship at a young age and holds a Bachelors degree from Biola University and a Master’s degree from California State Long Beach. He married his high-school sweetheart Candace in 1997 and they are raising two daughters. They moved from Los Angeles to Raleigh in 2007 and Jeremy became the Worship Pastor at Crossroads Fellowship Church. In 2014, the Lord gave him a new passion to serve the inner cities’ physical and spiritual needs, bringing a message of hope to the seemingly hopeless. Since founding Raleigh Dream Center in 2014, that passion now inspires many others to the call that we all have to serve others as Jesus describes in Matthew 25:40. RDC now reaches thousands weekly through different outreaches and is partnering with churches to do our part of the Great Commission to reach our city.
Director of Operations & Administration
Candace received her Bachelors degree from Biola University in La Mirada, CA. in Business Administration. She has worked as a sales rep for a Christian music distribution company, a Membership Coordinator for an athletic club, an Event Coordinator for a large church, and is currently a Real Estate Broker. But the biggest joy in her career has been the task of helping her husband to launch this non-profit that brings hope and healing to so many struggling with life-controlling issues. Her passion is to see people’s lives changed by the power of Christ, where they find their God-given cause and seek to bring that transformation to others around them.
Adopt-A-Block & Volunteer Coordinator
Rachel was born and raised in North Carolina. She received an Associates degree in Practical Ministry from Christ For the Nations, a bible school in Dallas, TX. She has since moved back to Raleigh and is currently working towards a Bachelors degree in Sociology at Dallas Baptist University online. She has worked as a Ministry Assistant for the Young Adults Ministry at Raleigh First Assembly Church. Over the years, the Lord has developed in her a heart for the city of Raleigh and a desire to contribute to its flourishing – to make disciples and see lives transformed.
Pathway Ministry Coordinator
Helen is from Niagara Falls, Canada, where she received a Bachelors of Social Work degree from Ryerson University in Toronto. She and her husband and four children have called North Carolina home since 1996. She has worked as the Assistant Director of a Christian residential home for women with life controlling problems, and also as an advocate for families and children within the foster care system. Helen put aside her career to raise and homeschool her children for the past twenty years. She is thrilled to now engage with Raleigh Dream Center’s Pathway Ministry to provide relational support to individuals and families in Wake County by providing aid and communicating hope and transformation through the love of Jesus.

Katie is a Raleigh native. After graduating high school, Katie lived in Mali, West Africa for six months, where she served at a center for street kids and at an English center. During her time in Africa, she was convicted of the call for missional living in every context, and learned the importance of presenting the Gospel in a contextualized way. Upon her return to the United States, Katie began volunteering with Raleigh Dream Center. Katie has a passion for ministering to children that have experienced trauma, presenting a message of hope and restoration to them in a way they can understand.
Sarah was born and raised in North Carolina. She earned her Bachelor’s in Social Work from North Carolina State University in 2009. After graduating, God called her to missions in Berlin, Germany, working as a missionary aid for Students for Christ campus ministry (also known as Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship in the U.S.). Upon her return, she married her college sweetheart, Bobby, in Fall 2010. Through social work internships, time in missions, and volunteer work, the Lord has shaped her heart’s desires to not only reach out to those in need, but to learn how to spread the Gospel and disciple others in a 1st world country. She and her husband are members of Raleigh First Assembly Church and they have a continued passion to live their lives missionally.

Patrick was raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia and moved to Raleigh in 1981. He received a BS in Pastoral Ministry from the University of Valley Forge and a certificate in Non-Profit Management from Duke University. Patrick has served in many areas of ministry, most recently as Community Chaplin at Crossroads Fellowship to the Wake Forest area. As a result of an auto accident, in which his first wife and a son died and nearly took his life, Patrick experienced the power of prayer, the blessing of friendship and a deeper understanding of heaven. Patrick’s gifting is that of a connector, a spirit of invitation. He desires to reach out to others by sharing the love of Christ in practical, relevant ways.
