Adopt-A-Block
The Adopt-A-Block outreach ministry is Raleigh Dream Center’s primary way of changing the atmosphere and building transformational relationships by being present in local neighborhoods. The strength of Adopt-A-Block is its ability to build strong, lasting relationships within the community that will allow us to speak into someone’s potential and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Each event lasts 2 hours where we knock on doors, provide free groceries for households, pick up trash, play with children, and have intentional Gospel conversations. It’s family friendly, so kids are welcome. Our Adopt-A-Block program provides over 10,000 pounds of groceries each month at no cost to under-resourced communities.
For volunteers, we ask that you understand the power of your personal testimony and sharing the gospel in love. For an easy way to share the gospel, you can download the “Gospel U” evangelism format.

Volunteer Leadership
Serving others doesn’t just change the atmosphere of a community, it changes YOU! If you want to have the greatest impact on a particular community and truly work on building relationships with the residents, then prayerfully consider committing to a LEADERSHIP POSITION:
– Site Leader
– Assistant Site Leader
– Prayer Leader
– Food Line Leader
– Door-Knocking Leader
– KidzJam Leader
– Driver (can be doubled with other leader position)
Our AAB Leadership Teams meet 2 -3 times a year for a time of training, debriefing and prayer for each community. Interested or have further questions? Fill out the Volunteer Leaders Form and we will get in touch with you.
Special events
Each year we host larger events to bless the children in our communities. In August, our Back2School Bash Adopt-A-Block provides thousands of new backpacks filled with school supplies. In December, the Pass The Joy Christmas Adopt-A-Block provides thousands of wrapped Christmas presents.
