We need many volunteers to help!
This is a great outreach for families to partake in to help read to other children and invest your time in serving others.

Children of volunteers may participate, plus middle & high school students are also welcomed to read with the younger children.

and providing a free lunch

Every summer, low-income youth lose 2 to 3 months of reading while they’re higher income peers make slight gains. By Fifth Grade, summer reading loss can leave low income students 2 1/2 to 3 years behind their peers.  6 out of every 7 students who receive free-and-reduced priced lunches lose access to them when school lets out.

The Summer Reading Program exists to provide a place of learning and fun for kids through playing, creating and reading. Our goal is to provide physical and spiritual support for children and families in high risk communities. The program consists of tutoring, games/crafts, a catered lunch, and a bible lesson.

This program will be held Monday-Wednesday all throughout the summer in 3 different communities. We need YOUR help to make the Summer Reading Program possible!

Help Sponsor A Child

It costs us $40 to send a child through the Summer Reading Program and to provide a meal.  We need sponsors to allow us to reach more children in Wake County – and YOU can help!  Through this program we have the capacity to serve 2,000 meals if properly funded.  Make a donation of any size today!
